Côte d‘Azur

The bad weather is over and also the big fireworks at Port Grimaud where we had the best place at the anchorage.

Being that close to Saint Tropez and not really being there is a no-go. Thus we move over and anchor next to the harbor, so that we only have a short ride by Dinghy.

Obviously there are lots of Tourists in August and we have the feeling that the prices are even higher than in July 2 years ago. – Switzerland is almost cheap compared to Saint Tropez, – but we enjoy it nevertheless.

With a couple of stop-overs we sail to the Iles de Port Cros and Iles d’Hyères. – Very nice small islands with beautiful bays if it wasn’t August. Although we always find a good spot, it’s rather crowded. For exhilaration some wannabe-sailors come up with rather funny anchor manoeuvre, so that we don’t get bored.

The small town Poquerolles (Iles d’Hyère) is quite charming. To sit in a bar and watch the crowds walking along is absolutely entertaining 🙂 . Interesting is, that also here we see mainly French tourists.

On August 27 it’s time to sail to Toulon respectively Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer, where we have a space at Port Pin Rolland. Antoine Hutter – NAUTIPLUS –, who will organize the works to do, welcomes us there.

Robin’s for a long weekend in Switzerland whereas I stay on the boat, which turns out to be good. After a couple of hours after Robin’s departure the fridge pump gives up. – Not to change it immediately wouldn’t have been funny as both fridges and our well filled freezer are depending on her. – Lucky us.

Upcoming week the crane is scheduled in order to change the sole of our main mast, – we wonder how that works… In addition our new batteries should arrive: we change to Lithium. You will get detailed information on both projects in our next update.

See u soon!
